How Long Does a 19L Water Bottle Last? A Guide for Families of 2 and 5
How long one 19L bottle lasts for a household of 2 or 5 in Karachi: illustrative estimates, what changes them and how to choose a weekly or monthly plan.
Work out your daily litres, multiply by 7, divide by 19 and round up. Then check the result with one week of real use. The table below does the conversion for you.
Add up the daily use in litres across everyone who drinks from the dispenser. A rule of thumb many families use is about 2 litres of drinking water per person per day, then add cooking, tea and guests on top.
| Litres per day | Litres per week | 19L bottles per week |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 28 | About 1.5 |
| 8 | 56 | About 3 |
| 12 | 84 | About 4.5 |
| 20 | 140 | About 7.5 |
| 30 | 210 | About 11 |
The formula is litres per day × 7 ÷ 19. If the answer is 2.4, plan for 3 bottles so you do not run out.
Estimates miss things. Start with a small batch, write down the day you open the first bottle and the day the last one finishes, and divide. If 3 bottles last 6 days, you use half a bottle a day, about 3.5 a week. You can use the 3 bottles free trial for this.
Add one spare bottle in summer or when guests are coming, then drop back when things settle. Having one extra is better than a Sunday evening with an empty dispenser, since we do not deliver on Sundays.
Once you have a weekly number, match it to a plan on the rates page, or read weekly vs monthly delivery. If you want a worked example for two common households, see how long one bottle lasts for 2 and 5 people.
